Meet Mr. Roger and Miss Connor— this father & daughter duo both grew up here at Cedar Springs Farm! At a young age, Roger began helping his father raise cattle on the farm. He later met and married Miss Lisa and and they started their own family while living on the farm. Miss Connor grew up loving and caring for animals at a very young age. She joined 4-H as a child and assisted in her mother's lesson program on their farm. Miss Connor went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Business, which has allowed her to continue to grow the farm and it's offerings. Miss Connor hosts all of the youth programs and lessons, sharing her knowledge acquired from 25+ years of experience with her students and guests. Miss Connor also provides one on one care to all of the animals boarding on the farm.
Ruger was born in April 2020 and was adopted that May at just 2 weeks old. He and his brother were bottle fed and raised on the farm and will live out a long, relaxing life with us. He and his brother are right in the middle of all of our programs as they LOVE attention and adore the kids. Ruger loves chin scratches and is very social. He is a total
grass puppy!
Marlin is Ruger's little brother. Adopted at just 2 weeks old. He was
bottle fed and quickly bonded to Ruger! He is shy but loves gentle
attention. He follows his brother everywhere! He loves to be groomed
and is very grateful to be here on the farm where he is loved so much! You can find him in the creek cooling off in the summer months!
Meet Reign! He is Mr. Roger’s horse! He’s a registered paint, born in 2000. We've had Reign since he was 5 years old. He started as our stud horse and he’s given us many of his offspring who are just as beautiful as him. He’s now used for our trail rides, camps and lessons! He’s full of personality and loves to be groomed. He enjoys sharing the pasture with his buddies
Ruger and Marlin.
Smoke is a 2016 American Paint Horse who we rescued from public
auction at just 4 years old. We fell in love with this guy quickly! He is
in your pocket and full of personality. Smoke was meant to be with the kids. He absolutely loves the attention! He's part of our youth, adult and special needs programs.
Tater Trot started as a boarder and we quickly fell in love with her
so much that her owner wanted her to have a permanent place here on our farm. So when given the chance, we made her ours! She is a miniature pony, standing just 34 inches tall, her blue eyes and adorable pink nose is what stole our hearts. She loves the kids and they love her equally!
Storm is our miniature pony, he is 28 inches tall and there’s a lot of personality in his little body. He recently learned how to pull a cart and in that, has found his passion! He is loving his new job.
How adorable is he?!
Eagle is an off the track
Thoroughbred who Miss Connor adopted as her personal horse when she was in her early 20's. Eagle is the definition of a gentle giant. He has riders as young as 5 years old on his back and truly takes care of them. Eagle loves to show off in the ring but he also enjoys relaxing on a trail ride! Eagle is now retired with his best girl, Summer and enjoying his days in the pasture.
Ocala is an off the track
Thoroughbred who is the newest member of the herd. He was born on March 7, 2019 and shares a birthday with Mr. Roger, one of the many reasons we knew he needed to be on our farm. He was meant to be around kids and loves their attention. This young man has so much ahead of him!
Meet Lexington! She was rescued in 2018. Lexi started out very timid and had no trust in humans. We have spent many hours over the years building a strong bond with her. We are very proud of all of her accomplishments and are grateful to have given her a second chance.
All hail the Queen of Cedar Springs Farm. Summer has been a part of our lesson program for over 20 years. She is a registered Appaloosa (without the spots). Summer is a dream under saddle but we have decided to retire her and let her enjoy her days in the pasture! She has served so many kids over the years and we will be forever grateful for her!
Dakota is an American Paint Horse who we rescued in 2018. She has a need for speed. Dakota loves to ride in the ring and on the trails! She is one of those horses who is truly a companion, she will follow you wherever you go and is incredibly loyal to her caregivers. Dakota hosts all of our special needs programs where she displays just how kind she really is. We feel so lucky to have found her and given her a second chance.
Meet Raisin! She is a Shetland pony but don't be fooled by her size because she calls the shots around here. Raisin will treat a beginner to a pony ride or teach a more advanced rider a thing or two about how to ride out a canter or even take them over fences. Don't be alarmed when you see Raisin laying down in her field, she spends most of her spare time relaxing under "her" tree. She is a wonderful pony and we feel lucky that we have been loving her for the last 16 years!
